LORIS’ scope of work consisted of approximately one mile of roadway improvements and a new 250-ft bridge over the Poudre River just north of Island Grove Park. The bridge’s aesthetic treatment was chosen to mesh with the City of Greeley’s vision for a northern gateway to the city. The themes reflect Greeley’s agricultural heritage, local ethnic community, and the significance of Island Grove Park, which plays host to Greeley’s Stampede Days every year. This project won the 2003 Project of the Year from the American Public Works Association.
