This months tour is of the Hudson River Greenway. It runs 11 miles from Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan, to the George Washington Bridge and is part of the larger Manhattan Waterfront Greenway . Some claim this to be the most heavily used shared use path in the U.S.. The heavy use by wheeled and non-wheeled users creates many possible user conflicts. The southern portion of the greenway also is directly adjacent to the Henry Hudson Parkway, creating even more conflict points. This greenway provides many special treatments to mitigate these potential conflicts;.
